Bee Pollen Benefits

Does Bee Pollen have any health benefits?
"

David Wolfe, author "Superfoods: The Food and Medicine of the Future" lists bee products as one of the top 10 superfoods.  The many benefits of Bee Pollen are noted in his book . He also states that it takes a bee working 8 hours a day for one month to gather 1 teaspoon of Bee Pollen pellets. For more detailed information regarding superfoods check out his book.

Bee pollen does have many nutrients. Bee pollen is approximately 20-40% protein in a form that is very easily assimilated. Gram per gram that's about five times more protein than meat. It is high in B-Vitamins, C, E, beta carotene, lecithin, choline, essential amino acids, lecithin, carbohydrates, lipids and essential fatty acids and many trace minerals. As with any "natural" food substance, the nutritional value may vary dependant upon the source it was gathered from and how it was processed.

Lists of Bee Pollen benefits have reported that it will help with appetite control, asthma, cancer prevention, diabetes, GI disorders, health, strength and stamina, anemia, and constipation to name a few.

Scientific research regarding the health benefits of Bee Pollen is conflicting.  If you look to the scientific community to validate the health benefits of consuming bee pollen you will find that there isn't much research here in the United States. However there is evidence that Bee Pollen does offer some health benefits from a nutritional standpoint.

Is Bee Pollen Something you should add to your diet?

Bee Pollen offers a wide variety of nutritional benefits. To choose a nutritional supplement determine if you need the nutrients that this particular supplement will supply. Due to our poor dietary choices and lack of good quality foods most of us are deficient in many vitamins and minerals which are needed to maintain our health. If we are deficient in many of the nutrients that Bee Pollen offers then I would highly recommend it as a good source of very easy to digest nutrients. The benefits of Bee Pollen will speak for themselves if you are in need of any of the vitamins, amino acids, fatty acids and trace minerals it has to offer. Use caution when purchasing Bee Pollen.  If it has not been handled properly then the benefits of the Bee Pollen will obviously not be as good as they could be. Purchasing from reputable companies will give you the highest quality products.

Note: Consult your doctor if medical attention is needed. If you have an allergy to bee stings (bee venom), intolerance to honey, or allergy to ragweed / chrysanthemums should avoid Bee Pollen products.
